So every year a friend and i have a contest who can make the most difficult gift to unwap. Im on my last leg with creative idea's. One year i wrapped his gift in an aluminum box i created and rivited together. He got me last year with a spring powered confetti bomb. This year i am planning on suspending his gift in a bucket of Jello (wrapped in duct tape obviously).
Just wondering if anyone out there had any great idea's.

I wouldnt but i can tell you that he used hole puncher fillings, a big spring in a large cylinder. I thought the hole punchings were packing for the tequila bottle... Turns out there was a string and a toggle pin holding the spring down that the removal of the bottle released.

If it's a bottle of tequila this would be brilliant and keep it ice cold.

Wrap about 30 different boxes inside each other, then when he gets the last one open, include a clue as to where the gift is and leave a trail of clues that will lead him right back to where he started to get his gift.

Put the gift in a lockable box (one of those fireproof ones at the offic supply store that sell for $30 or so). Give him a paperclip to use to pick the lock and wish him a Merry Christmas...

I suggest a hint telling him that the contents are perishable.

Second idea, plastic wrap the gift and then apply 3 coats of bed armor...

You two took it alot farther than I normally do. I get my wife and kids by wrapping one gift each in packing tape, even cut the tape at corners so there are no wrinkles in the tape and tell them no cutting tape to get in it. I did one for my wife last year in 3 different boxes and also left sticky notes in the layers of paper, with little smart a** comments. If I recall I used like two rolls of packing tape on just her gift.

put the gift in a clear plastic box. suspend the gift in the middle of the box..and fill the box with Bees..or wasp. you would need to drill vent holes. it would be awesome if the gift was a GoPro camera, and was turned on to film the fun.

you can wrap the outside with simple easy to peel off standard Christmas wrap.

The best i've done so far was to an ex-girlfriend. I had 35 different boxes all separately wrapped, some inside others, all stuffed inside a small Uhaul packing box. There were 3 boxes that actually had gifts in them, the others had either a brick, stones, matchbox cars (so they'd rattle), scrap boards, etc. The whole thing weight over 70 lbs and took her 45 minutes to find the 3 gifts (she gave up on the last one, I had to coax her to keep going. The last gift was a necklace box taped to the bottom of the big box).

True. Recently some buds at work thought it might be funny to freeze a dudes lunch box in a block of ice. When it was over, the metal lunch box (of apparent sentimental value...who knew) was pretty much trash. Seems water in different forms requires differing volumes or pressures or both. Though if it's the right gift, I like that plan!
