I know, I know, I know. It is a damn Pious. I can't convince him to get anything else, he has decided that would be the best vehicle for him, and he is one stubborn sonofabitch.

    So. Moving on.

He wants one with all of the bells and whistles for about $15k. He didn't specify mileage, I figured that would be self explanatory with price.

So here are some of my questions to all of you Toyota fiends....

Are there some years of the Prius that are totally crap (well more so than usual)?

Do they have serious problems after a certain mileage point?

Are there some certain factors we need to keep in mind when looking at the cars?

Any random info that may be helpful for our search?

........I know you all will be seriously tempted to flame this thread, but I am legitimately asking for info. Please wait until I have at least a little bit of useful info.

    Oh. and boobs.

THANK YOU MODS FOR ALL OF YOUR "HELP".

Sorry, wish I could help, but I don't know much at all about Priuses.

This isn't exactly a Prius Forum...

My old roommate owed a 2011 just traded in for a truck... One thing about buying a used Prius is the battery's have a shelf life of 6-8 years and are around 8k a piece to replace. Not sure how acurate this is but it what he told me.

The real challenge is finding one that isnt all banged up from people that cant drive. Second thing is finding one that isnt plastered in stickers, you know what stickers i'm talking about.

I would be concerned about mileage the most, I havent priced those batteries but I bet they dont give em away, I'd price the replacement battery and then see if its still the wisest choice. Oh and I'm sure that the carbon footprint on the old battery isnt exactly "green" so that might be another thing to consider if thats what hes concerned about. just my .02

David2011sr5 is right, they do have a lifespan of about 6-8 years and new packs cost around $2500. Also as I'm sure you know that where they're driven has a pretty big impact on fuel economy, they do very well in stop and go traffic and not as well on the highway. You should instead, and this is my opinion, direct your bosses attention towards a small diesel or maybe the yaris or Camry. The vw diesels get ridiculous mileage, and the other two get mileage that isn't that much worse than what the Prius gets.

I have thrown just about every argument I can think of at him. Like I said he is stubborn.

He does about 60 - 70 miles a day on the freeway. So it might help him out a bit in that regard.

AS FOR THE PICTURE. You can thank the Mods for that one. I have been working and haven't changed anything.
