Help and advice with paypal/craigslist sale.

I need some help with a paypal/craigslist sale. I've never used paypal before to sell anything. But you guys do it all the time so you know better than I do. Read this email and let me know what you think cuz it sounds fishy to me. I'm trying to sell a la-z-boy couch

So my questions are 1. How legit/safe is paypal and 2. Does this sound fishy to you because it does to me.

Him: Do you still have it available?

Me: Yes sir

Him: I will be paying through paypal is fast and secure as well, i paid last seller on here transferred to his paypal last time i bought a bike and was well good transaction..... You will have full payment with no any charges on payment....

If you don't have an account with paypal.... you can Sign-up for one now through Www.paypal.com, is well safe and secure and as soon as you have done that get back to me with your paypal-email, so that i can login soonest to my paypal to complete the payment ok..

Once you have set=up your account, just get back to me with your paypal-email, so that i can login soonest to my paypal to complete the transfer today....

I will go load my account now and once i hear from you with the paypal-email once you have set-up, i will login to complete the transfer.. And once payment has been completed.. then the shipper can come for the pick-up...

Me: You live in NY? It's probably going to cost a lot of money to ship this couch to NY

paypal is pretty safe but that guy def sounds like a scammer. but you have nothing to loose, if the money dont show up you no sell it..

With Craigslist I always do cash

 

I would ask him for HIS paypal so you can send him an invoice.... then report his ass to Paypal.

 

Ya, definitely a scam... They Paypal you then when someone comes to get the goods they file a dispute with Paypal and they get their money back and you're left with your thumb up your ass...

ya totally a scam. Why is this guy trying to buy a used couch all the way across the country? but if he wants to pay for it then more power to him. he can deal with the shipping costs. I hear paypal is pretty legit but this deal is just too sketchy

Thats exactly what I was afraid of. Receiving the money seems like no problem but what are the chances of this doucher trying to reverse payment and somehow get a refund.
