Dang that sucks, glad he's OK. That's why I'd never drive a motorcycle on the road, can't trust other people.

My truck almost got totaled last night too by an idiot who ran a red light.

    Yeah, he was very lucky.

    Helmet did it's job well.

He walked away with a broken finger tip, concussion, and some scrapes/bruises.

We were stopped, waiting for oncoming traffic to pass by so we could turn left down a dirt road. As the black car behind us began slowing down, they saw the silver car behind them not slowing down so they tried to get out of their way. So the silver car slipped them, and then hit Jesse.

If the black car wouldn't have been in the way she would have hit both of us dead on at at least 55mph...

The cop didn't even give her a ticket because he felt sorry for her

If I were your buddy I'd complain to the Police about that. That's failure to avoid a collision, a ticketable offense. I'd also sue the woman.

    We'll see what all happens.

I don't see why he should sue her if his medical bills are paid and her insurance pays him for the totaled bike.

Yeah, suing just because you can is pointless in my opinion.

Don't know if he's getting another dual sport or not. Depends on how much money he gets after it's all said and done...

I don’t know about suing as long as all his bills are paid and he gets a reasonable amount for the bike if it is totaled. now i would complain to someone about the officer not giving that bitch a ticket just because he felt sorry for her. Thats BS!!! at least for failure to maintain safe speed or following distance.
    :D
some bikes can take a beating before they are “totaled” as long as main frame and engine are good it can be rebuild pretty easy.

frame bent+foot peg mount broken off = no good, 95% it will be totaled.

all that other shit is really easy to replace and not all that much $$$

Yeah, with the frame being bent I feel like it's done. Fender plastics are beat up too.

    Only worth $1,400 Blue Book.

He'll be getting a new helmet too. His split open slightly in the back.

You've seriously got to be kidding me. Almost got t-boned AGAIN about 20 minutes ago by some effing chick in a Prius running a red light AGAIN. This time a much bigger intersection and she had to be going 50+ mph. Jesus, people need to pay attention. Seriously making me mad. Two nights in a row.

    WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE

yeah they will total it total it with the what it is worth and frame being so messed up.

FYI full plastics can be hand on the web fierily cheap. when ever you lay the bike down and mess something up(even the front forks or rear swing arm, look at fixing it your self before you use insurance.) it probably would not be much more than a deducible is and your rates wont go up.

I'm just saying that it all adds up...

Random thought, you should keep your gopro on when you go down the road just in case you get involved in another accident. Had a dash cam in our truck that would have caught our red light runner on film but forgot to put it back up when it fell off the other day.

I came kinda close to getting hit today. i was making a left hand turn and had the green turn arrow. some dude on the other side of intersection ran a red light and stopped in the middle of intersection where i was turning. the traffic on his side also had a green left turn arrow but to go straight(to where i was) he had a red light. He stopped and backed up to where he should have stopped and waved at me.(my guess as a way to say sorry)

i know what light he had because i go threw this intersection 6+ times a week from all sides and know the order of it.

i know. yeah it dose add up.
THIS is the best thing i have seen you say in a while! lol(no that you don’t say a lot of good things) but it could really safe you from a bunch of tickets. there is videos of people having them on while riding and being at red lights and people trying to rob them and steel the bike.
