i wont even wear slippers out in public. and i live in hawaii. anytime i go out, i wear shoes. my kids and my girlfriend are more slipper friendly LOL, but bare feet...no. only time im barefoot is at home or at the beach.

the other day, driving home i see this dude running. not like a bum or anything, just a regular guy, and this dude was barefoot. i was thinking, how the fuck? theres no way i could pull off a run regimen in barefeet. i would be ooh'ing and aah'ing on every rock i ran over LOL.

    Ya, shoes or top-siders.

When I was in high school, I lived in flip flops and played tennis bare.. only time I wore shoes was for PE and work.

Once I got out of HS and found that flip flops were an impediment, I switched to Sperry Top Siders any time I didn't need something with a steel toe or more formal.

I could see going barefoot on dirt or grass or rarely traveled terrain. But going BF in like stores and sidewalks is just dirty.

Even grass or sand... broken crack pipes, needles, razor blades...

What you could safely do 20 years ago is suicide today in many major cities and beaches.

Not barefoot, but the next best thing.

I've got a few pairs of Vibram Fivefinger shoes (mostly summer use) and a couple pairs of the Merrell Barefoot minimalist shoes (my favorite for everyday wear).

I realize it isn't quite the same, but it is as close as you can get with shoes on.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Go barefoot around the house and that's it, most the time with socks on. My little brother used to run around barefoot all the time when we were kids and ended up getting blood poisoning from it and almost died. That pretty much taught me never to get too involved in not wearing shoes outdoors. Man that kid had leather feet though, climbed trees, ran around our gravel driveway and everything. Always swore he was part indian or something.

Nope, I even hate sandals or flip flops. I bought my first pair of flip flops last year..only reason is to walk from the pool to the house and leave them outside so I don't track stuff into the house.
