I dont know about anyone else here, but the month of August is proving to be one that I can do without.
I was selling my house on August 17, which was planned a few weeks previously. On August 10, while driving down to NJ to visit my mom and also meet up with my brother who was traveling from Pa. I got a phone call that she passed away about an hour before. The funeral was on August 12, and I had less than 5 days to clear out my house, find storage for everything, go to a closing which I eventually got delayed till the 20th, much to the protest of the buyers, who thought i was lying about my moms passing! This put me in a high stress mode as I couldnt beleive they said that. I wont mention how pissed off my lawyer was upon hearing this and his answer to them was this: Either postpone the closing to monday or you wont buy the house and get sued in addition to that. Needless to say, monday became the closing date, all was settled and went well with quite a few apologies from the buyers.
Seems both the lawyer and myself forgot to mention to the new buyers that the taxes were going up 20% this year, that it cost $600 a month electric bill (all electric house) and that there might be a problem with the sewage pipes. I might add that the house was sold "as is" and it did pass their inspection before the sale. Poetic justice i guess for their previous remarks!
I decided to retire and just take it easy for awhile and just get away from everything for a few months, travel and all and maybe customize the living crap out of my truck inbetween all that:)
I am looking for a new home with atleast a 2 car garage and far from the city. So I will be taking a few months vacation from the forum also, which I know I will miss.

take care all, and see ya in a few months.

Sorry to hear about your mom. Time shall heal all wounds.

BTW I've found you a house with a 2 car garage that's about 2 hours from the City. The neighbour owns a Tacoma and loves to
