I'm in shock right now. He was one of the best freestyle riders coming up.
I believe he also won a gold medal in the x-games.

This crash sends chills down my body. It just makes me that much more grateful of my time on my bike and the expensive neck protection and helmets I buy.

    RIP Jeremy...Godspeed.:(

    Tint, Clear Corners,
    Actually no.

He was still alive when taken to the hospital. They put him in a medically induced coma to help with the swelling of his brain.

What was the actual cause of death? It looked like he snapped his spinal cord, broken neck, brain trama, what?

    Tint, Clear Corners,

Brain trauma is what I've been told.

Although they haven't released the exact cause, I've only read "death by complications from crash"

This is what was posted on www.racerxonline.com 2 days ago.

    - Jeremy Lusk was transported to Calderon Hospital in San Jose, where he now remains in a medically induced coma, in stable, but very critical condition where doctors are closely monitoring the swelling on his brain.
    - Post-crash, suspected brain trauma required immediate surgery to treat a subdural hematoma on the brain.
    - Surgery lasted 4 hours and 30 minutes.
    - X-rays were done to the neck and spinal column and no breaks are being reported by hospital.
    - When asked about injuries to other parts of his body, hospital is not reporting other injuries at this time.
    - Jeremy was attended to by the head of neurological surgery, Dr. Jorge Ramirez.
    - Doctors report that they will know more Jeremy’s future prognosis within the next crucial 36 to 48 hours.

    Holy Crap.

I had a very good friend named Jeremy Lusk that died when he crashed into a telephone pole a few years about about this time of year.

No relation to this poor guy.

Sorry for adding my two cents, but I had to say something.

    RIP
