That's the cover story for Newsweek.

Absolutely astounding that they just agreed to $789 billion of welfare expansion and pork. There are no actual tax cuts in this bill, just redistribution in the form of welfare. No ones taxes will go down.

    Can the US afford this?

Very soon the US debt will be too high to pay the interest on said debt. What would happen if a country went bankrupt?

And i sincerely doubt this whole package will do little else than line the already fat pockets of the elite. Starting with the private bankers that run the US reserve.

When you throw bad money that leads to more bad debt, and throw it at yes, greedy, bad people, what do you get?

And i've got 2 spare bedrooms for TW members ha ha

I know I'm the odd man out here, and I bet I will get hell for this, but I find it just a little hard to believe that somehow, the crisis that we're in is being blamed completely on the Democrats. There's plenty of blame to go around. Trust me. Guess what? Free market capitalism is a great thing when it works.I'm all for it. But when it doesn't, the shit hits the fan, and that's precisely what has happened.

Want to get angry? Get angry at the fat cat execs who perennially want to see their profit margins grow, thus they do things like cut jobs, introduce automation, send American jobs overseas, give themselves HUGE bonuses, and basically do more to help eradicate the middle class. I mean, seriously- the middle class avg salary has DECREASED 14% since 1974. Yet The upper 5% has had a 232% INCREASE.The cost of living has almost quadrupled at the same time. Think about that for just a second. Yet that's seen as a GOOD thing? What's so great about having a system where every single generation has it WORSE than the one before?

This whole bullshit was caused by banks, lenders, and financial institutions whom took the American people for fools, got politicians ( yes- Democrats AND Republicans) to be their lap dogs while they lobbied to make sure that you and I- the avg citizen would pay them as much and more in the form of cleverly engineered economic "policies", such as creative credit, deflated interest rates, and further reliance on foreign capital to fund it all.

But yet all I hear is name calling and anger directed at one group of guys. Never mind that the 'other' guys were at the helm when all of this was foaming up.Never mind that those 'other' guys are just sitting back twiddling their thumbs not doing a damned thing.See, I fail to see any inoocent political party at the table. They're more of the same mold if you ask me.

But Guess what? The economic machine, execs, and CEO's who engineered this whole thing are absolutely delighted that nobody is really getting angry or making a fuss over who has really created this problem, and since nobody will, they'll just as likely pull even more stunts just like this one because they can get away with it clean and with zero repercussions. They would be very happy to see those who get affected most projecting their anger everywhere except where it should be going.

You want something done about it? Write to your senator- doesn't matter if they are Republican or Democrat, and tell them to get out of the pockets of Wall Street, stop bending to their rules, and get back to running the government.

Anyhow, guess I'd better get back to talkin' trucks. No hard feelings. Just had to throw in my two cents worth. ( getting off my soap box now)

very well put, bob. I agree.

There's not a single party responsible for this now. This started 50 years ago. and most if not all politicians care only for dollars from constituents. And who gives the most? the ones with the most to give.
