recently there was a local story here that a kid got ahold of one of his dads guns and accidentally shot himself and died. I think he was also 5 years old. They said there were 80 UNSECURED guns in the house.

These are the people who need to lose there gun rights. We need to center our focus on these kinds of people, Not everyone. Why should we all suffer and put ourselves at risk for a few dumbasses who abuse the 2nd amendment.

thats crazy!! 80! i own 5 guns myself, i have nothing against owning guns and shooting as a hobby, but lock them away and never show where you hide the key and ammunition to a kid!!

it's a matter of opinion, i was given a bb gun at 5 and a .22 at 7 i never shot anything or did anything bad becasue i was taught from day 1 on how to treat a weapon and such & the 5 years old didnt "own" the gun. his dad probably had it in the closet or on a table from cleaning it that day or something and the kid wanted to mess with it. lack of knowledge, teaching, and situational awareness. it's a shame a child loss their life, but well, shit happens. this one negative instance takes away 10 positive of gun ownership. but politics are bad, so move along people, move along....

5 yo's shouldn't learn anything, they're not old enough for dangerous knowledge...... hell, 5 yr olds often fail less than many so called adults.

Most firearm use is almost instinctive. It's the discipline to constantly be safe / knowledgeable with it, that is acquired and required, doesn't matter if 5 or 30 yr old.

A developing brain retains lessons better and more efficiently then an adult brain, So if you dont learn when you're young chances are you will have a difficult time learning when your older

teach them while they are young so they are safe with it as adults, when a kid first gets a gun, they are supervised. when most adults first get a gun, they are not.

that was my house sunday morning, only about 3000 times more beer bottles. Never let random chicks throw a grad party at your house

JK always let them do that, especially when they clean up the next day
