    Over the course of the day. watched this a few minutes at a time. Unreal achievement.

    414 Million Euros to build, 6-7 Euros per cross, 30-50k users a day. Approx, 90 to 127 million euros per year generated.

    Can't figure out upkeep costs, but I'd estimate .5-.7 million a year tops. Investment returned after 5 years.

    Anyone wanna build a toll bridge?

    Yea, its pretty insane. Just the measurements alone. I've been taking a surveying class this term...fawking awesome there are guys that can get that kind of accuracy. I sure as heck couldn't.

    And yeah, seams like the return on investment isn't to bad either. As long as nothing significant happens with maintenance issues.

    you are forgetting land leases...purchase easements...right-a-ways...lake/river/ocean bottom leases. And, in many/most areas...the bridge is dedicated to the state for ownership post construction. Then a bridge "authority" is created for the purpose of collecting tolls. then, of course, there are monies that change hands between the state and the "authority"...taxes, fees, royalties...

    It's a losing proposition. It's why most are constructed in partnership with the state. And why most toll collecting "authorities" are broke and begging the state to take it over.

    Also, don't forget...all is done under the watchful eyes of the state legislature. And we all know politicians don't even look your way without coins changing hands...votes being tallied...and favors rendered.
