Still this is 2013 and the GM engineer responsible for that is a dumbass. I wouldn't own a car thats a giant puzzle piece.

Of course, as bad as GM engineering is, VW and Audi (commonly referred to as VAG) engineering for serviceability is even worse. This is called "service position":

Yeah, 1995-1997 models have sealed beams. Mine never burned out, but I threw in some $25 ebay H4s that look better, brighter, and I can reach behind them and replace the bulbs.

The only draw back to owning the best front end on a 1st gen

Engineers design them and do not have to worry about the repairs. The auto industry has always been like this.

How about removing the engine mounts to replace the spark plugs on the 1968 "428" Ford Mustang.

the problem above ain't nothing but something to do.

^Alas, some vehicles like Toyota pickups have always been easy to work on. The Corolla on display sideways at my local dealer (to showcase rustproofing) also looks easy to work on. I don't think it's a coincidence Toyota spends the fewest man-hours in the industry to assemble its vehicles.

Funny thing is, the Uplander was basically a Venture minivan with an intentionally lengthened hood to appear more SUV-like. You'd think with such a design, underhood workspacer would be plenty, but nooo.
