Literally the sole reason I bought a .243

308 takes care of deer, elk, moose, etc... The little 243 in a heavy barrel with 3-15x scope is for yotes

A pack of coyotes chased my brother on his quad last summer... That's proof enough they're a problem

 

I know what you mean, I love my .308 for white tail, my grandpas winchester model 70 in .270 shoots as straight as an arrow and is my go to for coyotes, the deer I got last year had the bullet holes a half inch away from each other at 120 ish yards, I mean, I'm a good shot but the rifle is amazing

My brother, dad, and myself went to South Africa a couple years ago for a safari hunt and I used my dad's .338, my favorite rifle by far of my dad's collection, hit a baboon on the run at 300 yards and I was like "damn... that's some luck but also an amazing rifle" and I'm a good shot...

 

I had a river otter chase me in my yard

An otter could, at worst, give you an infection or rabies... A pack of prairie coyotes is like a pack of dogs... I don't go cruising looking for coyotes but I do predator control for a few friends and family members because some areas they're becoming a danger to farm dogs and livestock.

 

Baboons are like coyotes or other nuisance animals in South Africa so they shoot em if they see them. They're pretty aggressive and are crazy intelligent. We just left it in the field... I don't think they really do anything with them

 

Down here hogs are a real problem. They don't attack but they F things up and run the roads causing major accidents.

 

Been hunting and collecting/selling pelts for 30 years here. We have a large population of coyotes. From calling em in, to using Greyhounds it is a big sport in Idaho as they would completely wipe out our upland game birds if not controlled. Yet, I have never seen a pack of coyotes unless it was the pups in a den. Adults in pairs mostly(Alpha and mate) but, not a pack.
I don't doubt it happens but, I think it is a rare occurrence.

Yea I've seen them in 2's and 3's at most, but on the edge of the city (Regina, Saskatchewan) there were a group of 4. Not an actual "pack" anywhere that I've heard of but they seem to be hunting in larger groups now. We always hear a bunch of them howling where we hunt white tail.

 

Everyone I talk to who isn't from Alberta or Saskatchewan says they aren't a pack animal... But they are here... My dad didn't believe me until we were sitting on our stand at our bear bait sight for a few hours and I started with the predator calls and we had 6 or 7 coyotes circle in within a half hour

Then again people say black timber wolves are rare and I've seen 3 in the last year
