    that is indeed a shitload of money, they just make it look better than it is by advertising the before tax amount. in Canada they advertise the after tax amount.

    Cash option is 462, and you will pay ~%35 in taxes. You will walk away with about 300 mil after taxes.

    you will pay taxes regardless. With the cash option, you get it all now and can do what you want with it. Other wise you take it in yearly payments for 25 years.

    if you take the payments, it is about 25.6 mil a year and you will get about 16 mil after taxes.

    Actually in Cali you only pay fed taxes so I believe it is better to take lump sum

    Plus when you're at that amount of money, the lump sum will earn you more in compounding interest than the yearly payments would over time.
