    Tonight the stupid f'n garage door sensors decided to malfunction and the door closed on my cat, killing him. I'm so pissed off right now I want to tear the whole garage door apart with my bare hands. Just a warning to others, if you have an outside animal that sleeps in the garage make sure your sensors are always working properly and low enough. Really unhappy that he went out like this. Loved that little furry dude. RIP Seymore

    Motion sensors or you garage door fix that. We have them and have never had a problem.

    Fail safe when other things mess, like the truck or the garage door receiver.

    That's what I mean by the sensors failing. The way he was facing suggested he was going out as the door went down and the motion sensors didn't pick him up for some reason. We've never had a problem with them before.

    Got it, for some reason my mind thought of door controls in the truck going wack causing the door to close. That's what I get for multi-tasking :eek:

    Sometimes dust will over them, I try to wipe it down once a month when I am home. Mine get tested quite a bit from closing the door form the inside and having to make it under with door before it closes with out tripping it :p

    Sorry for your loss though, a few friends with out sensors have had that happen :(.

    Sorry about the cat, in addition to the sensors I believe code requires doors to reverse if they encounter something before the door is all the way down.
