#2 on top #1 on side low fade. Some oriental people on base about 50% of the time its awful and they miss spots! About every 10 days Ive got to get it cut (stay in regs and my hair grows fast and straight up lol).

Someone reccomend me a good DIY setup?

i have enjoyed reading these posts. i know a real barbershop is not for every type of personality but i am a barber and i can tell you i talk guns sports and tacomas to proabably 80% of my customers. thats what i mean when i say your missing out by going in for your boob time at great clips. i can get that anytime, i don't need it during my haircut. When you sit down in the chair and the person cutting your hair says what number guard are you? goodluck my friends

    Not that bad at all.
I tried a double-edge first and lost a fair amount of blood.
After about 6 weeks, I went to a straight razor and I haven't looked back.

I'll still use the Mach-3 on my head because it's difficult to get the straight into the tight areas around my ears, but if I've been slumming it and haven't shaved for a couple of days off work, I'll use the straight to mow down everything but the tight spots, then clean up with the Mach-3.

Smooth, and much longer lasting than the cartridge shaves.
Trimming the pits... one pass does the job.

i do it myself with my conair and a comb, i just try to guesttimate and get the same length all around. when im finished it usually looks pretty rough and uneven in a few spots but its whatever, not a big deal to me as long as its short enough. the one thing i always have trouble with is my sideburns, i ALWAYS fuck one side up and then have a bitch of a time getting the other side to match it lol

    Ahh... funny memories.

So I'm cleaning and coating my motorcycle gas tank. Burned up the wife's blow dryer, so I bought a heat gun and did it right.

Needing to replace the blow dryer, I headed down to Wally World.

So I'm standing there looking at the display trying to figure out which one to buy. Remember... THIS is me....

    So this lady walks up.
Looks at me, looks at the display.
Looks at me, looks at the display.
Looks at me, looks at the display.
Nervously walks over, points to one of the dryer, and says "Uhhh... that's a good one."

I just read that the battery life on the cordless is horrible and non-replaceable.

Had it for several months now, and I think it's great. Came with a smaller trimmer, scissors, lots of plastic guides, etc. Had the last corded model for about 15 years, and it still works fine, just wanted not to bother with the cord in the way.

I splurged a few years ago and actually bought a pair of real hair scissors, (Lucky Hare Katana KS-1). Bought them to fit my hand even. Wow, what a difference!

I know most of you go with various clipper-done lengths - my brother, too, cuts his with the Wahl cordless, I think.

But if any of you want a little longer hair I highly recommend moving from the Costco 2-pack of scissors (what I used to use) to real hair scissors. I cut myself without knowing it the first time I used them. If you can use the clippers your probably 1/2 of the way to being able to cut hair with scissors. Maybe.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
For the last 4 months or so I've been using the Jilbere Razor Comb. Wow, it does a great job cutting through the mop (I had) on my head. I highly recommend it. It's the best $5.99 I've spent. Just comb your hair as you normally would and it's F'n perfect. [IMG]

Not impressed... but look at her eyes.
    I'm skeered.
    Those are crazy eyes.

The astronaut girl that wore a diaper and drove across the country had crazy eyes.

    Just getting started.
Been cutting my own for 15+ years. Keep it simple, like Monster Coma said, a #3 on top, a #2 on sides. I may do a #1 on sides....but in the end, it is simple, no cost, and beats heck outta a stick in the eye....after a couple/few times, ya get pretty good at it....
