The plague of this nation now is people who think they have the way to solve problems, but don't apply reason or consequence to the result.

People died and lost limbs, they deserve better than a nation's emotions being satisfied as being "good people", by passing a pressure cooker law. We wont be proving how good we are, they wont get justice from that.

Do those same people try to ban rope to prevent suicide? Shows how misguided "regulation is the answer" types pick and choose what they want.

I think that we all need to understand that we are moving into the brave new world and we must accept that our freedoms must now be restricted. I think it might be a good idea to require people purchasing these items to obtain a special license. In addition to taking a safety course, there should be a national database that keeps track of who is buying this stuff.

See I dont think we need to make any extra specialized provisions, but utilize the database checks we already have. Lol a safety course might be a bit of overkill?

 

Here in Massachusetts the Attorney General will develop a set of Consumer Safety Regulations for pressure cookers. This list is different from the list of Approved Firearms as promulgated by the Executive Office of Public Safety. Only pressure cookers manufactured before a certain date will be permitted to be sold by licensed pressure cooker dealers. Police will be exempt and may use any pressure cooker in the station kitchen or break room.

Capacity of the pressure cooker will be limited to 10 pints. A special license will be issued allowing people to possess older pressure cookers exceeding 10 pints, but only at the exclusive discretion of the chief of police in your city or town.


Laws like this exist in the Commonwealth of MA.

Anyone who eats food has likely eaten lots of food from one, fried chicken often. I'd tolerate a photo of the buyer and be done with it, buts not going to solve anything either.

will you finally ban cars? one derailed a train and killed dozens.
Will you regulate knives? one guy just stabbed 14 people.

Or is it you are ok banning stuff you don't have, but turn a blind eye to the murderous things you might have?.....but you want to keep.
