    Hi TW i want to get into mountain biking and trail riding what would be a good bike for a good price lower than 500$. i don't plan on going on any crazy stuff just a weekend think and to keep active.

    In that price range, I'd buy used off of Craigslist. You can get a lot of bike if you don't need brand new.

    Depends on what you want to end up with. DH, All-Mountain, Wal-Mart? As the post above stated, scour CL, you can usually find some pretty killer deals on the style of your choice. If you go new and are trying to thrash a bike, you won't get too far on a big box bike for $500.00. Buy used, get a decent bike( hardtail most likely)and try to put some money away for maintenance. It will save you some money in the long run.
