If only freedom units made as much sense as metric

We know that Canadians only measure in centimeters because they hope that the bigger numbers will make things sound more impressive.

"You got six inches of snow, eh? Well up here in Canada we got 15 centimeters!!"

and I think you'll find it's the rest of the world using metric , not just Canada

 

Same syndrome, though.


And I'm in America, where it's spelled Centimeter.

I'm watching the raging storm along the OR coast, wind gusts to 70 mph, I can feel the house shudder.

 

I'm sorry, but you're wrong. Do the math. Freedom units makes exactly 560 more sense than metric:

7 ½ = $7.50 = 750¢, minus 190mm = 560 sense.

 

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Well, I installed a sump pump a few years ago, this storm being it's first real test... FAIL.

The good news is the basement always did flood before the pump, so it's not like I lost anything, just puts the drought we had in perspective!

 

Can it not be tested without a basement full of water? PREP FAIL

 

Oh, the pump works fine. The water just goes around it.

Actually, I paid a soil engineer to tell me where to dig the hole, too.
