So I was just chillin right, playin some games and all when I wanted to get something to drink. So I got up and started walking out of my room. I tripped. :( And "punched" my door. It cracked it.

My mom hasn't seen it yet and I would like to keep it that way. How would I go about fixing this? Please don't say buy another door. :( I already thought about that, but I think they are expensive... and I'm broke currently.

Not much yet, got a pretty good sound system w/ my custom sub box. Plan on adding more lights & a tool box.
Go to your stealership & ask for a Taco poster to hang over the crack.

So yeah. It wouldn't look right. lol

    Thanks though! :)

Do you just have the white standard household doors or does it have special molding and designs? If it's just standard your only choice i know of is to buy another door becasue these doors are made of a laminate cardboard material. I know becasue my buddy dropped his end of the couch into one of my doors when i was moving some furniture around. I picked up another door at Home Depot for about $60 though. Good luck on Mom not finding out and maybe somebody else had a better solution.

did the same thing, can be fixed, just use some wood filler, and lightly do the pattern, and sand a little. Bad thing is you will need to repaint the whole door.
Personally, fess up and say you will fix it, or hang a poster and fix it over a couple days.
    GOOD LUCK!!!!

I say heed gonzo's advice, and / or fess up. It was an accident, right? That pressed hardboard with woodgrain is tough, if not impossible, to patch up and do it right.

Get a new door. Yes, you will probably have to trim the bottom / etc but it should be relatively easy. In fact, go to your nearest home improvement warehouse and price one out and talk to your parents about it, they might appreciate the initiative you took to research the price...

...should be around $20 for a replacement door.... here's a link to one that's 3 feet wide and your bedroom door is probably a 30"... make sure you get the hand correctly (right hand swing or left hand swing)

    Thanks for the replies.

I'm sure my mom won't be mad, but if she didn't know it would be one less thing in her life to worry about.

I'll see what I can do about it. I have friends and a cousin that work at Lowe's here. Maybe I can get a deal. LOL

    She's gone but not forgotten.
She's gonna worry more that you didn't tell her when she finds out for herself. Trust me, I'm a parent.

You just answered your own question! Have your contacts at Lowes watch for "blems" that come in in shipments, he can probably fix you up for a few bucks.

Was just thinking, if it's an outside surface (the side that you'd see if you pulled the door open) You could reskin it...might be cheaper than repoacing. Just glue the skin on & trim to fit. Still, full disclosure is ALWAYS best. don't think you could pull off the repair w/o mama knowing anyway.

Fess up and tell mom - yes, I'm one - I'd be more upset by the lie than the damage if it was an accident.

Like Lucy said check on a new one and tell mom you will replace it when you can afford one.

Replace it. Don't waste your time trying to fix it. It will guaranteed look like shit.

It broke that easily because it is an inexpensive door.

Here is a pic of a closet door from the hotel at my bachelor party. We used some kitchen utensils to get the door off and took it to Lowes. Had them cut the new door to the same lenght. Put on the hard ware and it was all good. It came primered white so no paint needed. I think it cost about $40 for the door. My brother still has the door in his garage. It will be 3 years next month.:D
