Oh...I'm a big animal guy...Dogs, horses, birds..Wife even managed to get a cat. And it makes me sick that guys like that dogs owner can have pets and be so clueless about what they are doing.

A dog's senses are 2x more sensitive than ours.

Mace would have worked just fine. Especially police force grade.

    EDIT:
Are you a cop by any chance?

...merely being in a position of authority does not disqualify culpability... if you are saying, give the LEOs benefit of the doubt all of the time, unquestionably, ...well that is quite a dangerous precedent...

You might think so...but it's the truth. Cops aren't obligated to try every lesser option at risk to their own well being because think they should

It doesn't matter how sensitive they are...There are people who are not effected by police grade OC at all. It's like splashing water on their face.

Have you been exposed to OC or trained on it's use??

    About which part??

did your dad also pay for you to transplant an asshole to your mouth, cause youre just talking out your ass. i sprayed dogs with mace and they brushed that shit off and kept on coming. pits that dog fight will fight with broken legs. them having better sense of smell doesnt mean theyre more sensitive to pain.

Would the world be a worse place if the police had shot the man and let the dog go its own way?

    The dog didn't deserve that.

I'm totally serious. I'm friends with some of the fire crew in Wimbo. Let me bring some of my doggies down. It would make a difference.

I understand having to protect yourself. But whats the deal with everyone saying this guy was a thug and couldnt be trusted? I think I read the mans a Lawyer. Either way as an LEO they should train you how to react to dogs. (not sure if they do or not).

If you know anything about a dog.
Do not approach it an aggressive manner.

I have a GSD who would give up her life for anyone of my family. I don't have kids,
but i think of my dog as my kid.

They should have kept their distance instead of trying to grab for the leash. The dog was sniffing the grass until to cop made the aggressive move. then the dog was merely telling the cop to get the hell out of his bubble.

Everyone acted wrong. I say both the man arrested and the cops handled it poorly and there was no need to kill the mans dog.

everyone is quick to the guns. Its one thing when you are alone and a dog snaps at you. Its another when you have 3 cops and the owner in front of the dog.

    Just my .02
