are human beings really that helpless today ?

This is the second incident that I know about where a car goes into water and the occupants make a cell phone call instead of trying to free themselves. In both cases all people died and they were all female.

Personally I think it says a lot about the current culture of non self reliance.

Not only did these two women die in the water crash but they had to be rescued just hours earlier from a routine hike.

 

I think its called natural selection...

Look at people when they go to restaurant they can't keep their phone from there nose. Always constantly checking.

They were found 175 feet out because the search and rescue couldn't push them out any farther and got caught I suspect.

The car being found 175 ft away from the ramp was most likely due to tides and/or current. Either way sad/stupid/dumb/worthless. Wounder what breed of dog it was? Probably a small poodle or other type of purse dog.

 

Human history is littered with the corpses of morons and fools who passed up the clear, obvious choice. The only difference is that advances in technology and a need to fill 24 hours of a news cycle ensures we hear about it more often.

 

They say there has been about 150 billion humans from an estimate of 50,000 years or so.
I suspect that half died from things like trying to catch bear cubs, and learning to fly like Eagles from mushrooms.
