I quit smoking December 31st of 06. Nine months now. What helped me quit was the thought of myself carrying an oxygen tank around just to walk down to the mailbox. I knew if I didn't quit, that is what would happen. It helped.
Good luck, you can do it.

I believe it was at Autoanything.com. You can do a google search for "low profile narrow width tool box" That's how I found it.

    Ain't that the truth.

I quit (for good) the Thursday before Memorial day weekend and haven't had one since than. I did it cold turkey.

My hats off to you Tacomaman06 and best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If ever the urge step outside and take a few deep breaths and you'll soon remember how good you feel.

Also remove yourself from situations where you'll be pressured into lighting up again!

Spacedude's right, actors can make cigarettes look like the greatest thing on earth, then when i light up im like "this isn't so great, where are all the hookers and blow?"

Anyway, congrats on the one week mark, keep it up dude! the Alliance is proud of you :)

    Good for you.

I hate cigarette smoke. If you want to die, try to light up a cigarette inside my truck.

Ohio is now Smoke-free in all public places. It's so nice being able to enjoy a meal at a restaurant without a cloud of smoke in my face.

It's funny. My new Tacoma comes with a cigarette lighter, but no ash tray. So lets see, what could I light on fire that produces no ashes?

    haha! nice one!

I agree with pb on the resturant thing. Even when i use to smoke a pack a day there were some things i couldnt stand. I didnt like smoking in my apt/house or anywhere without ventilation. and i have always hated smoke when i'm eating. I dont think they should ban smoking from anywhere except for resturants.... makes food taste awful

    getting there....

yeah, im still at it pretty good. its hard, but im doing it. this past saturday night, we had a little get together with some friends, i took 3 drags off a cigarette, and honestly........that was some nasty ass tasting shit. i havent had a drag since then either, and i think the only reason i did it then was because we were drinking really good. im actually starting breathe better and easier also.

    thanks for the support guys!!

I found that what really helped me alot was smoking a cig about 2 months after quitting. It reminded me of what it was like and how far I had come. For the next few years after quitting, I had an occasional smoke about every 6 mos. Now I havn't had one for over a year.

Im like you tacmomaman, after you quit, they dont taste so good anymore. Like i said, i occasionally burn one but i dont get the same happy satisfied feeling i use to get. Now when i get halfway down i'm like "wow, this isn't nearly as good as i remember" After you quit for a significant amount of time they stop tasting good completely. Keep it up, glad to hear your doing well!
