    Oh OK. All good :D

I just hope the denial of the permit for the bikers WAS because of lack of police, etc.

Shit....that many of them in one area they would need the army, air force, marines, etc (which is busy) to help crowd control!!! :D

That's alot of folks in one place at one time.

Wasn't the only permit that was denied was to have a "no stop ride?" You realize that requires barricades and officers at all intersections for motorcyclists. It makes sense that they were denied for that permit because the man power needed for something like that is insane. That being said as a motorcyclist I know how easily it is for bikers to shut a road down permit or not so it's not like the permit is actually needed regardless.

Sadly all this stuff really takes away from the importance this day holds in my opinion. Being 45 minutes from the northeast I have family who work in the city every day and know people who lost loved ones that day. This day should be about remembering those people who lost their lives, not about furthering whatever cause you support.

You get all your information from the major media don't you?

Watch an unbiased news program, or better yet, go do some independent research. Did you know there's a civil war going on in Northern Ireland at this very second, and people are being blown up with bombs? Probably not, because Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc don't cover it.

Why? Because nobody cares about anything other than the middle east. The guys who hijacked those planes were middle eastern. That instilled a hatred in the hearts of all Americans for middle easterners. The media picks up on that, and plays with the emotions of Americans by ONLY and EXCLUSIVELY covering violence in the Middle East...Americans will watch it, and buy the products in the commercials between the shows.

If you're just another one of those people who absorbs everything you hear or see on the news, then there is no arguing with you. The whole middle east is not a "total shit-fest". You're just 18 and don't know a thing about it other than what you see on TV or YouTube. You haven't been there.

In the eyes of the world, the US has been a total shit-fest. Only difference is that their media doesn't give a rats ass about it.

Not really. They are not marching to the pentagon or the world trade center.
It would be like your group marching to the capitol building of the state the shooting happened in.

I thought it was about the terrorist rally, not just 9/11?

By showing up to pretty much interrupt another march? Making it more about them then to remember. IMO.

IMO i think it's both - i mean if you ask would there still be a massive biker march today if there had not been a planned muslim march. I think no.

    Build thread in sig...
that's why i said similar. there really isn't a good direct relationship comparison for the two situations. the capitol and pentagon have a much closer connection to one another in most people's minds than a state capitol building and school building.

My entire point - in one sentence.

If these bikers are just out for a cruise in remembrance of 9/11, then that's awesome! But if it's Bikers vs. Muslims, they can all go to hell. There should be no hostility whatsoever for a peaceful march, no matter what day it is.

This. I'm all for a memorial ride but it is also a political protest against the Muslim march and that's where the line goes from "remembrance" to furthering your political causes.

This topic is far too inflammatory and political

Take it to another forum or PMs if you want to discuss it further
