How do people do that to kids? Thank God she was found and has a good home now. Poor baby.

I'm really surprised she survived... there have been cases in orphanages where babies have died when they haven't been held or loved for a long period of time.

    Stupid, filthly pigs.

this is where i think our whole judicial system is fucked up. these people should be locked in that same room and treated the exact same way. i cant stand it when i hear that someone killed a wife and kid or something and all they get away with is a few years in the slammer. imo, they should be executed the same damn way they killed the innocent victim. i really cant stand this whole "we have to give them an unpainful death crap. i say we should even go back to the good old days and have public stonings or hangings.

    just my opinion.

Couldn't agree more on the humans suck part. However, I think that this can be looked at in a somewhat positive way too. The family that adopted her shows that there are good people out there too and they have made a substantial amount of progress. Hopefully there are more good people than bad out there though.

How is it depressing? Yes her situation sucked, but look how much better it's gotten.

Happy ending = Cause for celebration in my books.

It's just a shame the system let her down so early in the game.

its depressing because she could be a normal little girl right now but instead she will probably never speak or get married or go to prom or do any of the things girls are suppose to do.

I rarely ever tear up but this story did it to me. it really pissed me off when it said, "the mother didn't want to give her up". too fucking bad! it shouldn't even be an issue. how did she avoid jail time? if it were up to me, (and i'm not kidding) i would have the mother skinned alive and thrown in a dumpster and just leave her there for the maggots. she destroyed that poor girls life

Can you change time and space? I sure can't. Dr.Manhattan might be able to. (Sorry just came back from seeing the Watchmen)
All I'm saying is that a shitty situation happened, and in the end it turned for the better.

Could have been put back with her mother. Be happy for that much at the very least. ;)

i wouldnt expect a canadian to understand. Canadians are like sea turtles, you lay your eggs then up and leave your young to fend for themselves. Canadians lay eggs right?

I got alot of mixed feelings on this. I have a little 2yr old daughter and i can't imagine not talking to her or giving her a hug..... and then you got this lazy bitch that needs help of her own out reproducing and not taking care of her child. I'm glad the child has a family that cares now but i'm pissed that the mother screwed her up this much to begin with and gets away with it. Damn i'm mad now, i couldn't be a social worker becasue i would end up hurting someone over a case like this.

same here man. i wanna say its unbelievable that anyone would do that to a child, but nowadays, there are some really sadistic ass people out there, so i guess i should say its inconceivable that someone would do that.

Wow, I'm speechless. There are some sick people in this world. I pray for that little girl. Shame on the State Attorney's Office for letting her excape jail time. They are spineless! That lady should be publicly stoned to death.

Oh, I almost forgot. The officers who first responded should have arrested the mother on the spot. She was commiting a felony in their presents. What kind of admin gave the order to let DCF handle it?

WTF, i cant imagine the situation, some people shouldn't be allowed to reproduce, might sound cruel and all, but in the end the suffering one is the lil girl, I hope she gets an almost normal life...

No we give birth to live young, but if they don't squeak at birth we eat them for they are weak.

PS - How often do I have to keep telling you. Medic. I've seen all sorts of shit and smelt things that would haunt you in your sleep.
