I tend to keep a $100 hidden in my wallet. One of the few things my dad taught me I am like to do.

I actually only pay with Cash at the bar ever since the bartender sent my card home with somebody else and gave me their card. Took me a week to get my card back. In the interest of preventing a repeat performance I started paying for my drinks with cash as I order them.

A credit card does have its practical uses however. Mine never leaves the house and is great for the convenience of online purchases.

It's so much faster to swipe a card and push a few buttons than count out a bunch of bills and wait for the clerk to count out the change.

Normally I like to have $20-30 in my wallet for lottery tickets or small odds-n-ends. Can't see putting under $10 on a credit card, but people do it all the time.

Feeling like a King today though - $92.... woo hoo! Should last me a month....

~$60.

Pay for everything on CC unless it is under $10 or a very small business owner for whom nickle-and-dime CC precentages add up....

Cash lesson: A long time ago, a tow truck operator was about to impound my truck because some prick shop owner called him moments after I parked in his lot and then stepped into a shop next door (I gave weekly business to this prick shop owner, by the way). The tow truck guy had the flat bed down and was pulling chains out in front of my truck. I pulled a $20 out of my wallet, walked up to him, and asked who called you? He glanced at the prick's shop. I said here, go away, and handed him the $20. He pocketed it and aborted. The I marched into the prick's shop and said fuck you, you are never getting any of business ever again, and I am telling all my friends to never come here either, you ungrateful son of a bitch.

So I saved about $100 and a big headache with a $20 bill.

A couple hundred in 10 & 20's at all times and 2 ATM cards so I can get another $500 on the weekends.

Why? Closing those good deals that you stumble into requires speed and cash!

Also, a lot of Mom & Pop businesses will "forget" about the tax if you "forget" about needing a receipt. I saved over $20 last week at a jeweler when I started pulling out twenties for some repair work.

I have $301 in my wallet right now but only because I went to the casino and cashed out while I was ahead. The extra $1 was left over for vending machine cash for work.

Normally I usually only carry $3-$5 in singles in my wallet, just for vending. Everything else is debit or credit anymore.

A $20 bill just saved me from having a pissed off GF when we get off work

She left her wallet at home and I was able to swing by and drop a $20 so she can eat lunch

No atm between where I was and where she was

I usually don't carry any because I spend it right away... I've been trying to make a conscious effort to keep about 50 in there at all times though just in case.

$100 bill folded up nicely as an emergency fund I keep at all times.

Same bill has been in there for years.
