How much cash do you have in your wallet right now? The reason I ask is because I had a discussion with an older co-worker and it seems there is a generation gap pertaining to available cash on hand. Personally, I almost never have cash; I don't see a need seeing as almost everything is paid for with a credit card and paid off. When we go out to lunch, normally I act as a portable ATM and pay for the entire bill with my card and the others throw money at me to cover their portion.

I used to only carry cards, and then you find yourself in the middle of nowhere needing gas and the place isnt taking cards for whatever reason

i always keep enough cash on me to cover a tank of gas

even more recently, to confirm my cash carrying, me and the gf were out at a bar, and she started a tab...end of the night comes and her card is MIA...i now make sure I take cash to bars too because I'm not gonna give someone an opportunity to "accidentally" lose my card or give it to another person

When I have cash, I get a little stupid with it...Tend to make it rain at the convenience store across the street from work too often.

Not sure where you live at but those type of buisness go out of buisness. And you can always cancel you card and get money back if stolen or lost.

Carrying cash you fucked if you loose it. no refunds! Cash......pfffffft

$50 or a little more. Last night I went out to a bar for my dart league match, plus I needs to get an inspection sticker this week.

I get paid every 2 weeks, my usual routine is take $100 and fuel up right away..then give the better half money for the week or fuel.

I always carry cash. Usually $60-$80 so it's enough to help, but not enough to spend big.

I try to pay with a card when possible, but cash is still king! I always try to have $50+ on me with $20 hidden in the truck somewhere.

There are times it's nice to have cash. Cash is a necessity at the track. I like to bring some cash and leave the cards at home so I don't raid an ATM.

Heard about that happening to a lot of people lately. For the last few years, I've never left a tab open at a bar because of that (unless it's my local pub, bartenders know you and won't lose your stuff).

It's rare for me to have more than $20 in my wallet unless I'm planning on making a planned cash purchase and just took money out of the bank. When I'm traveling more than just my daily commute, I usually keep $100 in cash just in case. My mentality is, if I'm going to buy it anyways, I might as well use a card. I get nothing for using cash but the card gives me cash back. Even though it's minor, it's still more than I get when using cash. I'm pretty careful with my money and monitor my cards like cash though, not everyone seems to have the will power to do that.

I'm assuming your signs are backwards in the poll. Right now, the options are $0, more than $5, more than $20 or less than $20 :)

My mom was telling me she keeps cash in her emergency kit in her car, to which I said (good idea) after an F3 tornado wiped out a local town and credit/debit was down in a widespread area for awhile. But I told her she shouldint keep it in her kit, because people would/could steal it.

Which got me thinking. Why not get a tiny section of PCV pipe and paint it black with rolled up cash inside. Zip-tied to something under the hood/dash...most thieves would not know its not a part.

About 40+ $ in the beginning of the week by wed it'll be half and change. Some food places only take cash if u use their ATM well you're asking for the card to be copied heh. Also they include the tax 13% if you pay cash and a regular. Not talking about just chinese food court but others too from Caribbean to pizza around here
