Richardbui23's Daddy Log (warning pic heavy)

So i've been keeping somewhat of a picture log on instagram and Facebook but its all unorganized so i thought i'd keep track of his growth and progress and what better place to do that than here where my Taco family can also enjoy my walk through fatherhood as much as i am enjoying it.

11-19-2012 was the day my world changed for the better. The day that opened my eyes to a different side of life. The day i was blessed with my son.

Lennox Van Bui was Born at 6:37pm weighing in at 8lbs 9oz and 21 inches long/tall
our first night togetherone of his first Dr. visitsthis is a picture of him at cook childrens hospital. I had to take him to the ER because he was runnin a 102 fever and we were also trying to figure out why he was so yellow (yeah hes half vietnamese but we're not yellow lol). turns out he had jaundice.MOHAWK LIKE DADDY!So after the paternity test proved to my parents that he was mine they went apeshit and loaded up. this picture does not justify how blessed i am to have such wonderful parents because once a month we get a package of milk from UPS and its a HUGE box that lasts the whole month!Our first cowboys game together!random instagram photo that his mother postedIIRC this is about 3 months.Dont mind his mother looking like death lol this is a picture of when i learned about how humidifiers and baby congestion (yes that a TRD Beadlock Rim)More random cuteness!Go Cowboys!So my family is a very close and caring family and i thought this was funny. When she says kidnap she just means it in a joking way but she took him from me because i was sick and i didnt want the baby to get sick too.This was the moment i realized he most likely going to be a ladies man. To this day if we are sitting at a restaurant and there is a table full of ladies he will smile and try to talk to them. He tries to kiss the phone when he holds the button down too long and siri comes on.This is his 6 months shot and he remembered that the other shots were not bueno for him (he has suprisingly great memory)This is the first day he got his new stroller.for any parents out there i highly recommend this stroller. the basket detaches from the frame so you can turn it around and the strollers max weight is i believe 40 so i should be good for a long time.more random cutenessFirst time at church. He somewhat knows how to use phones but this is more so a picture of him spitting game. He's actually talking to the barbie and strokes her hair and then goes in for a kiss (i have no idea where he learns that from.....)

This past weekend in Houston Texas 11-17-2013

 

This was from around midnight on his birthday 11-19-2013 because i was too excited to wait for pictures.

So far what i've learned that he is a wonderful learning experience along with the fact that i am exactly opposite of what i told myself i was going to be as a father. I've always said im going to be like my dad, Stern and Firm but loving and caring(he shows it the old school way) but turns out im more like my mom where if i can i give him what he wants because i cant stand to see him sad or cry (i'll teach him values and worth of things later on in life when he understands a bit better)

so thanks for looking through the past year of my experience and i hope to document more on here as things progress.

 

Today is his birthday and im stuck at work . I dont ever give him anything sugar but maybe today i can make him an exception and get him a cupcake or a soft serve or something! Can't wait!!

 

congrats, but i feel it necessary to point out a few stereotyping confirmations.

1) nail/hair salon.
2) loads of stuffed animals in your car
3) flat brim hats
5) spiky crazy final fantasy hair
6) another asian person who can't see over the wheel when they're in the driver's seat...

Honestly dude sugar isn't bad in moderation I mean you want him to eat healthy but if you hold it back from all the time it will be bad for his health.

 

idk im just excited about the kiddo and maybe its the young person in me thats deciding to make this thread?

i should change that to rarely. i try to keep it natural sugars when possible but i'll sneak him a spoon of ice cream from time to time

 

so excited he didn't know if it was ok because I don't normally let him have sweets lol just a pre-celebration because his party is Sunday

My daughter was born when I was 35. She is my first and only child. Like you said... it was a life changing experience. As soon as I held her something in my brain snapped and a new pathway was opened. It was no longer about me anymore. Everything was for her. I have never felt so happy and scared at the same time. I still question myself sometimes with the decisions that we make for her. I think I'll always look back and wish I would have maybe done this or that differently. But in the end I'm just playing it by ear. I try to play to her strengths and shore up her weaknesses.

In the end she has been my savior along with my wife (detailed in my PTSD thread in my sig). I cant imagine life without her.

Enjoy these times man. They grow up so fast.

 

man thats the truth i swear it was yesterday i was driving him home in the taco and now he's 1 and trying to walk and talk and theres truly no words for the love and how amazingly awesome it changes your life

Awesome thread! Love to see fathers take such a special interest in their child. It really warms my heart. And such a handsome boy too! You are truly blessed as is your son and his mom.

 

Great thread. I dont know(or want to experience at this time) what your going through but i think it's awesome, the whole process of growing up and caring for another life.
