My daughter convinced me to...

My wife and I were standing bedside discussing how lame the TRD Sport bed stickers looked. I was commenting that I want to take them off and she said think about it but to do it before too much time passes. It's only been a month.

Then our almost 5 year-old daughter walks over and asks what we're talking about, so we tell her. She's begins sounding out the letters and comes up with TURD SPORT... and now that's what she says every time she approaches the truck! Daddy's truck is a TURD SPORT! Ahhh my ears!!!

I've always thought the TRD acronym was a gamble because of the joke-magnet invitation it presents, and apparently I was right, just didn't expect it from this age group. Needless to say, sticker removal project in full effect.

Yea thanks, love the truck. My last Toyota truck was an '86. That 22R was a heck of a 4-banger. This V6 has a lot to live up to.

I was never one for stickers so I'll prob just peel them and leave it blank, but thanks for the heads up. I'll search the threads for those other stickers and see what piques my interest, you never know. Zombie Response Team isn't happening. lol.

I plan on taking my TuRD Sport stickers off as soon as I mount my Trail Teams. So many trucks have bed side stickers not having any actually looks custom. Lol

I've always assumed it was TuRD, is that not the common pronunciation? Maybe it is mostly none TuRD owners?

 

lol all of my Toyota-hating 'friends' always call the TRDs turds. I don't mind the acronym itself, but coming from an sr5 before I bought a sport, I do think the truck looks cleaner without the decal.

 

when my now 24 year old daughter was about that age she came in the living room and said " I just ate a terd" we about dropped a turd until we realized she was talking about her nerds candy.

 

Meh... couldn't care less if someone wants to say turd instead of TRD. In fact if you're older than 10 and say it... it just show your retarded maturity.

That's funny, our dealer removed the stickers at our request before we left the lot.

 

Monte bought his dad custom Supercharged trd decals for his 2nd gen, and it took till the wyo meet 3 months later for someone to realize "Supercharged" was spelled wrong on the decals haha

 

Yep I read the 1st post in the string to my smart a$$ 24 yr old daughter and she noted that since we refer to my wifes Suburban as the 'burb, if I didn't remove the stickers we may come to be know as the "TuRD Burb"s
