That's the driver side, so passenger seat is a no, and I don't see any provisions for a 5-point, which would not be required in any class a Tacoma could compete in, so I'm calling BS.
You just prefer not to wear your belt.
    That's fine.

I used to never wear it...actually, I didn't wear it 6 years after the habit formed, and then for one reason or another, I just knew I should...so it's been many months since I've been wearing it, and am glad I am back in the habit of wearing it....I've just seen too many news stories lately about occupants flying out of vehicles in traffic accidents...I would rather not do an impersonation of Superman.

I am disabling the seat belt chiming though...I still take off the seat belt when I am around the corner from my residence, or I reach the area I'm in and am in the parking lot.

Having seen the utter destruction that is caused by not wearing one in the 21 years on the job I know full well the consequences of not wearing one. Will it protect you 100% of the time? No. Will it increase your odds of survival in a vehicle accident? Yes.

Our Fire Apparatus doesn't move until everyone is buckled up and neither does my personal truck. Anyone that doesn't.... it's a matter of when, not if.

No choice, the fine up here is...I think around 200.00 for the driver and 75.00 for anyone that's not hooked up (passenger).Under 16 the driver gets the extra fine.

For me it's a risk gain assessment. Very little effort to put it on but high risk not to. Therefore, I always wear it unless I'm on a small private road or something.
I do not require adult passengers to put theirs on. I have the same little plugin thing as OP for when they choose not to wear it. That way the truck doesn't beep. :crapstorm:
I'm really not big on seatbelts being a law, but I understand that insurance costs would be a bit higher if it wasn't.

Smashed my face on a windshield when I was 16. Did it again when I was 18. (I know, explains a lot, right?) Both times as a passenger.

I wear it ALL the time now. Make everyone else wear one, too.

    Just a few LEDs...
I made a relatively new '85 chevy cavalier rental do a cartwheel with a half twist or something like that. I hit a driveway across a deep ditch and ended up facing the opposite direction. Broke out all the glass in the car, had dents all over the place, etc. TOTALLED !!! I wasn't wearing a seatbelt. I climbed out of that wreck with a small scratch on my leg that the seat belt would not have prevented.

Much later in life, at 35 mph, I T-Boned an 80 year old lady that made a left turn into oncoming traffic (nothing I could do but slam on the brakes and lock the wheels up). I was able to drive my 2001 Dodge Dakota away, but the old woman's Camry was history. I think she was a bit stunned but otherwise ok. The air bags did not deploy, I guess I had 1/2 a second to slow down(very quick reflexes). Again no seat belt and no injuries.

I NEVER wore a seatbelt until I got my Tacoma. The ONLY reasons I even consider wearing it now are the annoying beeping if I do not put it on and the constant threat of the seat belt Nazis ticketing me for "endangering" only myself by not wearing it.

Two major collisions with no seat belt and I am just fine. As long as I'm not "endangering" anyone else I should not be required by law to wear it.

    Just my $0.02 worth.
