apt balcony, rain ... not happy

Pouring rain yesterday, cant help that... but my balcony got soaked bad. Is there anything i can put in the opening area so that the rain doesnt get all over the balcony floor?

^ this. Other that putting floor leveler on that tapers high by your patio door to low on the opposite side - I can't see man options for ya. Even if you had a better roof overhead the rain would still blow in. Only issue I see is poor drainage due to low spots.

As a renter, the best solution for you would probably be to invest in a squeegee broom:

if you are on a first floor unit you could just make a small kerf cut from the lowest point of the puddle to the drain on your patio.. just a blades width and deep enough so the water will drain out of the puddle (dont want to risk cutting a cable if it is a post tension slab).. but if you are on an upstairs unit that has gypcrete balconies then you'd be better off using an epoxy or some other leveler slope it away from your door

My first guess would be the door's track has plugged up weep holes, filling the track and overflowing into your living space.

Do you have a step down of any distance when you step onto the balcony?.... or is it at the same level as your apartment floor?

Is your balcony floor draining properly?
