Here is a shot from my back yard about 5 minutes after the launch was over. I get a rumble and my windows shake 1 minute into the launch, (35-40 miles to the south) and when the shuttle lands here I get 2 sonic booms to let me know she is home safe. Been here all my life, and I still get excited over a shuttle launch. My grandmother worked there durring the Mercury,Gemini,Apollo and the start of the Shuttle Program. NASA ROCKS!!

 

Here is a shot of an Apollo Rocket that never went into space, it rests at the Cape for people to see. It was/is huge. This shot is of the primary engines to get it into orbit, once that is done there is a secondaty engine further up the rocket to get it to its destination, the thing is a monster. If your'e ever in Brevard COunty, Florida, it's $45 bucks or so but worth the tour to see some really cool things.

 

Man, that pilot should have come over the intercom and told everybody to hold on cause he was going to try and catch it. Imagine the commentary then!!!
