Daylight Savings Time ?!?

One of the benefits of moving to AZ. We dont adhere to that stupid dlst bs.

 

Also I swear every year I hear talk about it ending. But it never does.

Umm, yeah I like spring and fall weather too. Whether it be DST or not.

Here is the advantage. I worked in Yuma AZ for a while. During DST(in Cali) we would drink in Yuma till they cut us off at 1am Yuma time. We would the go a few miles into Winterhaven California where it is now only midnight and we could keep drinking till 2am when they cut us off. Back to Yuma where it is now 3am eat at Denny's then go to work. The wonderful things I could do in my 20's....no way I could pull that off now.

In China (where most of your clocks are made...), they don't observe DST.

 

Not a fan of DST and would support going even further and have the world switch to Z time only.

Why exactly do you love it? Daylight savings does not 'save' daylight. There is still only a certain amount of actual daylight during a given day no matter the time on the clock. It serves no purpose to observe, so seriously Gelo760 why love it ? Please explain I really want to hear this !

I think you might be missing the concept. It was implemented to align normal work hours with hours that the sun was up. This concept's validity varies by where you are on the globe. The US was just more into it in the 20's and that's why a lot of countries close to the equator don't do the same. But without daylight saving's time, you go to work when it's dark or, they are required to change the time that you are required to show up to work/school etc. "Saving daylight" means not going to sleep when the sun is still up or trying to work in the dark. Is it necessary for us today? No. We can and do work in the dark. Is it still applicable? absolutely.

 

my vote would be to move it ahead 30 minutes and leave it alone . I don't like it getting dark at 5:30 in the winter and My work doesn't allow me to enjoy daylight up until 9:00 p.m. or so in the summer.

 

I always hate the first few days after. The day seems to be over so fast. Specialy a Sunday, when you just want a nice chill long day with the family.

 

It's Monday so I remembered why I hate Daylight Savings Time. It takes me awhile to get acclimated to pooping an hour earlier.
