Wrong and proves exactly how much you know about what you're arguing. The compounds in chocolate that cause toxicosis are caffeine and theobromine, which belong to a group of chemicals called methylxanthines. There is more present the darker the chocolate and it has NOTHING to do with being allergic to anything. Their bodies simply don't process many of the foods we eat the same way and in many cases can be toxic or fatal if ingested. Maybe it's you who needs to do some research. Hell, this is even a more common poison to dogs. Sheesh.

People should have to pass a damn test own a dog.

Also you should have to take a test to post on the internet. Obviously you fail. Have a great day.

It was being facetious. If we didn't already have some many laws protecting idiots from themselves there wouldn't be as many alive to own dogs and be ignorant to what's dangerous to them.

Reminds me about our Blue/Red Heeler we had. He kept trying to get a drink of my dads beer so he gave him some. It ended up going down the dogs nose and ever since he doesn't go anywhere near beer cans haha

My dog went to town on a 1lb chocolate bar. Made it half way into it (foil and all) before we had the thought "it's a little too quiet in here" and realizes he was doing something he shouldn't.

about 10 days of horrible constipation later he pretty much learned his lesson with things in wrappers.

I tend to feed my dog some fruits and veggies, but its always things that we put into his dog food.

He eats better then we do  :p

That's the difference... I make those choices on my own. It's not YOU it's your dog's health and they have no choice to trust that you will do what's right for them. I wish your dog had a smarter owner.

I just feel bad for dogs since they don't know any better than to give their unconditional trust to an idiot that would purposefully put them in harm's way due to their own ignorance.

I am a strong believe in survival of the fittest...and smartest. A few months ago a jay-walker got hit and I believe died because they did not want to walk 80ft to the cross walk and decided to cross, in a heavy rain, at a dark, and widest, section of the street.

The context of a life lost determines if it's sad, not just the loss of life its self.
