This has nothing to do with cattle, or the tortoise. This is a land grab plain and simple. Oil, water, and solar.

Land Grab? The federal government has possessed the land for decades. Maybe it was a land grab back then, but right now it is in the process of removing an unlawful trespassing free loader.

The federal gov doesnt own anything. The land belongs to the state.

That's why there's not a damn thing the state can do about right?

i have been following this quite closely and its pretty intense.

what i have came to with my research is-
Bundy is trying to prove a point. he had agreed the land is not his, and to pay BLM grazing fees for a while because they promised to help keep up with the land, roads ect.
after a while they stopped doing that, and Bundy was tired of seeing the money being thrown away.
he tried to pay the county, or the state. but they would not accept it. he refused to pay the gubument, because they said they would do something, then stopped. the gubument raised the grazing prices so high to push all the other farmers away.
he said he would still pay, just not the Fed government.
well they wouldnt accept it so he just basically said f off then.

hes like alot of other citizens fed up with the federal government.
i read on the nevada militias site an ORDER TO STAND DOWN. and to only remain in the free speech areas.

This is spot on as far as the grazing/payments goes.

It may be spot on with the payments, but the fact remains that its still not his land.

I don't agree with everything the government does. Who would? But we have to be realistic. If this was a case of eminent domain I'd say let's revolt. This is a guy who just want to get over just to prove a point. F that, if I didn't pay my taxes for a few years, guess where I'd be.

It isnt the BLM's land either, so why are they there?

Why would you continue to pay someone for a service they are no longer providing.

I wouldn't be on the land to begin with. It may not be their land, but they are the ones who are in charge of it. It's not that hard to figure out really.

It IS the BLM's land! That's the whole point!!!!! Pull your head out of your ass and pay attention to what's going on. It's been the BLM's land for decades. They allowed ranchers to graze their cattle there for a fee up until the late 90's. He's said that he is just trying to prove a point. Which is stupid. He's in the wrong. He should pay grazing fees and pay for the amount of grass that his cattle has had for FREE for the last 20 years. And yes. There is actually a way to calculate how much grass should've been consumed.

This is pretty much the closest we have been to a second civil war in many years. All I know is that the BLM and Bundy are at each others throats. BLM just wants the land for oil and Bundy did have grazing rights there.

you wouldnt be on the land to begin with? are you kidding me?
bundys family has been there since day 1, they wanted them to settle on it. they practically asked people to settle on the land back then (i believe)
he will pay the grazing rights to the state. just not the federal government because they do nothing to keep up with the land like they once promised.

like said above, why should he continue to pay for a service he is not receiving?

is our government not under the same set of rules as us? so they can steal cows and auction them off?

now come on now, lets keep this discussion civil as i dont want this thread closed.

When you're caught dealing drugs, your cars and house are confiscated and auctioned off. Is that wrong as well? They will take whatever was used to commit these crimes for the past two decades and they have every right to.
