what did my trail cam photograph?

I don't think its a beaver looks like fur on the tail, I wish I could see some tracks.

Thanks for all the suggestions. IMO I'm thinking some large weasel-type, maybe fisher, maybe even an otter or a marten or mink. Seems pretty big, especially when you look at the fox in the pictures below it. It's also pretty dark color, definitely darker than a deer when I compare pictures taken at night.

Gray fox with head down and ears folded back.

 

I've never seen a grey fox, is it as dark as whatever this is? I always thought they were a lighter color. I don't think my area of mass. has porcupines in it at all, so at this point I"m going with chupacabra until I can prove different.

It would have been great if I'd been able to get pictures of footprints but when this was taken the snow was ice and nothing much was leaving impressions other than big animals. The trail in the picture was a snowshoe trail I'd made a few weeks before so it was heavily packed down.

Honey badger? Could be a fisher or a mink. It really looks like a wolverine. Maybe a Martin.
