It's definitely either a marten or a fisher, probably a fisher.

If you know what your doing it is not inhumane, I have got my hand in my traps a couple times and no broken bones. The only time you see broken bones is if you make your sets where the chine will get wrapped up and bind the trap up, I have let animals go and they don't even limp.

Legs are too short and wide to be a fox or wolf. Going with beaver
