Here's a couple of pics of a job we had this morning.....Century old 3-4 storey tenement in the North end of our City. After an aggressive interior attack, all crews were ordered out, just too much fire.....Guys don't like it,but we do what we're told.:(

1.This is me facing the camera and my Officer in the red helmet

2.My crew and I went up this rear stairwell and beat out all the windows allowing the fire to vent.According to the guy in this pic,we're still up there somewhere.

3.After a while,I spelled a guy on the end of this aerial truck for a bit.

4.Here's the result of two ladder trucks dumping thousands of liters of water into a building for a few hours:

5.Myself (on the left) and a buddy doing nothing and trying to not get caught.:D

The building ended up a total loss, leaving 15 homeless.Fortunately no injuries, but another hundred+ year old building gone forever.....We got out of there at about 1:00 and at 1:45 we caught an MVA where one lady required extrication. At 2:15 we got a body shop fully involved containing 4 classic cars....Although the building,3 of the cars and a new GMC Sierra were lost,we managed to save a '68 Ford Fairlane much to the owners appreciation.

Not your average day for sure, but Hey,it's what we signed up for....Gonna sleep good tonight, day shift again tomorrow AM.:)
