It's two of the coolest things Iv'e ever done in my life. There is no feeling better than running into a scene wether its a fire or a fight. When everyones running away your running in.

 

best adrenaline rush u could ever get is running into a building thats on fire!!! i love it and theres no better feeling than going to someone who is pretty much dead and 10 minutes later they r talking to you!! thanks to all the fellow brothers out there

Thank you all. People in the middle of a crisis never really think to thank those that help them out, but we appreciate it more than you can imagine.

 

Well as a Firefighter, I would like to thank everyone for paying taxes and whatnot cuz thats my paycheck This job has its moments where it is glorious, but not a lot. I have only been a FF for just under 4 years, and I have seen crap that made 30 year veterens cringe and question their job. It really does mean a lot to us for people to thank us for doing out job, It makes all the crap we go through, worth while. I really would like to thank all the people that are serving our country . What they do is amazing in my eyes because I could never do it. Thank you to everyone who is thanking us, it really does mean a lot.

 

Touche. Don't you guys get paid like $2/hour and then regular wage when you're actually on call? I know that's how it works here in Alberta for volunteer FF's.

 

I dont know about the other guys, but here the county volunteers make $6 a call, and if it goes over 3 hours then we get $10 an hour. The dept a volunteer at is a district (self sufficient) we get $4 a call and $10 an hour over 3 hours if the state gets involved. I have work on a call for 3 days straight for $4 because it was an enourmous crime scene. This is in California.
