Alright, I'm making a flagstone patio and I found a great deal on pallets of flagstone on craigslist, the kicker is the guy has no tractor or anything to load it, I have a come along and a trailer that sits about 6 inches off the ground, each pallet weighs one ton and he said the pallets have been sitting for a while. I just need to figure out how to get the pallet 6 inches on to the trailer.

    Any ideas?

buy your friends some beer and unload it on the trailer and back on fresh pallets. or rent a fork lift, but if its been sitting on the pallets for awhile, the pallets might give.
Stone is heavy so remember don't overload the trailer.
you could also have a friend with a boom truck or a tow truck with boom lift the pallet and drop it on the trailer(reverse trailer under the pallet).

I'm with Kala on unload the pallet and reload to trailer with some friends. Old pallets never work out well with heavy loads.

Maybe become an evil villain and enslave humanity but that may be a bit more work than just reloading

Load /unload by hand if the pallets are sketchy. If the deal is that good, it's worth it IMO. I've done it with slate and sandstone a few times carrying a few hundred pounds each time. With a trailer it would just cut down on the travel time.
