If he was a deserter then we should of let him stay. We did release 5top Taliban leaders for him, but then again the afghan Goverment does it themself on a monthly basis so I don't know why that part is such a big deal. It is a shame that everyone had to go look for him and get hurt trying to find someone doing something foolish.

 

Yea, just welcome him back and move ahead. No sense in dissecting the whole thing too much.

Glad he's home if he's legit.

Seems to set a dangerous precedent in terms of stimulating the kid napping or otherwise snatching people from countries you may want something from.

 

I just hope Bergdahl's thankful for the 6 guys who were killed looking for him after he "disappeared". At least his parents get some satisfaction, but it's all FUBAR IMO.

 

If he was AWOL, then I hope they prosecute him. Droning the bad guys would be a good start, and I have to agree w Hmmclung, I hope the guy appreciates that american lives were LOST looking for him. As for promoting him, that seems kind of over the top. But it's a wacky wacky world.....

 

The guy is far from a hero, he ran out on his company in the middle of a deployment and 6 soldiers lost their lives trying to find this guy. To just turn around and give up 5 of the most dangerous men for someone who willingly not only left his post but also sought out the militia to take part is way to much of a cost. Sadly the fact that it is such a high vis operation his "discrepancies" will probably never see the light of day.

 

Prosecute him as a deserter.

The whole thing was a distraction from the VA scandal. This regime is good at moving your attention from their failures. Additionally, the swap itself was illegal without having gone through Congress. Impeach

 

Finally, someone gets it.

For the past five days I have been feeling quite disgusted over the media coverage of this event in national news that has been dragging on for the past 4 years... And as I sit here watching the local news, it seams like the truth will finally come out!

For several months of my life back in '09-'10 I had the very unique opportunity to witness and be part of the daily updates of the situation to a "Full Bird" from Alaska, that would leave just about any honorable soldiers just about sick in disbelief.

Due to the bureaucratic bull shit and the John Hancock I had to leave on a piece of paper I can not legally state specifics of what I heard and what happened... But with that said, believe the truth of what you hear and read!

I truly believe that he belongs at the end of a properly tied rope or starring down the darkness of 6 long metal barrels for his actions that cost at LEAST 6 others lives, without the option of the cowardly blindfold because those true patriots that lost there life's in the efforts of your "recovery" never saw there executioner take there life.

As I see it, there blood is on your hands and hope that if you don't see the inside of a UCMJ courtroom and get the proper justice that someone spills all of your blood.

 

This is only the beginning of this story.....think I'll go wax my Tacoma

 

Was he worth the six lives it cost trying to find him? Was it worth releasing five terrorists?

I don't know.

I hope he stands trial. Sounds like he should.
