My wife and I ended up buying a Charbroil Commercial Stainless 4 burner grill. She's been wanting me to have a new grill. My previous grill was a charbroil and lasted 8 years, so hopefully this one will too. I cooked some steaks on it the other day and let me tell you, its a big difference cooking on the lower grate close to the burners. My old grill had the full size grate that was attached to the lid, so I had one grate close to the burners and another one the same size higher up. I;ve always cooked steaks on high and they've came out really good. This time I cooked on high and they were still tender but the were more done then we like them. I like mine med rare and mine came out between med and med well. I only cooked mine for like 8 minutes total. I had all burners on b/c I was cooking 4 steaks. Should I not have had all burners on or what are some tips cooking on the lower grate close to the fire. All new grills that I've seen you cook close to the fire.

What temp was the grill at? I cook at about 450 degrees.

Ordered a temp gauge like you mentioned. I'll put it once it comes in.

I want to say it was close to 600 degrees but. I want to say my other grill when I had both burners on that high was around 500-550. I guess I should've cut the heat down a little and I probably need to cook using the temperature gauge and not looking what the burner(s) is set on. I used to cook boneless chicken breast on high but what temp should I cook those on? Thanks for the tips.

I cook everything at about 450. Just adjust times accordingly.
