need new gas grill

I was wondering if someone could help me pick out a good gas grill. I really don't want to spend over $500 at the most. I thought about the Chargriller that has a gas side and a charcoal side. My current grill is a two burner charbroil grill that has a side burner. Its about 8 years old. Nothing wrong with the grill except the right burner has a more red flame instead of the left side being blue flamed and burns easily on the right side. If I could afford it I would love to either have a weber or this grill that is made locally. http://www.bqgrills.com/Patio Page.htm

I've heard that heavier the lid is the better it holds in the heat and thats why weber is good. My wife and I went to lowes the other day and she wanted me to look. I looked and then we got finished she said which one do you like. I said none really impressed me. I'm not sure why or what I'm looking for. We grill atleast twice a week and when boston butts are on sale I will normally cook one of those and throw some wood chips in a smoker box(I know I will get talked trash about that its not real "smoking") When we get fish I normally use my cast iron skillet on the side burner to fry those but I got a turkey cooker last year so I could fry the fish on the turkey fryer stand. Which grills would ya'll look at in my situation?

 

I have a Weber Q3200 which I really like. It's held up out in the elements for 4 years now very well. It's not the biggest grill but sips gas like nothing else I've ever used; I grill 2-4 times a week in the summer and 1-2 times a week the rest of the year unless it's a blizzard. I typically get a 20 lb tank in May and then again in Septemberish.

Heat is relatively even and I roll without the toasting rack for larger areas. The electric igniter's battery compartment needs some dielectric grease to prevent corrosion.

You could easily feed a family of four or five on it, with a couple guests it'd get crowded but is doable. I've done pork spare ribs for five hungry adults with a lot of left overs on it many times. I really like the smaller size and lighter weight.

 

why do want a new grill if there is nothing wrong with the one you have? Can't you adjust the "red flame"?

 

ya I have done the same. A new gas grill that is worth anything is pretty expensive.

 

Buy an old Weber propane on craigslist..cheaper and made from the same internal parts of the new grills..just less stuff to break..

This will last longer than your professional poo grill my dad's is from 1994. I rebuilt it last year..


Note this is not my grill but I think I just talked myself into making it more like said grill..the wood isn't looking so good..lol

I may look into a rebuild kit. My burners run from left to right, not like the new ones up and down. If that makes sense.

 

Well just send all of them to me I like the stuff but wish it was a little lighter on the salt.

 

Mine are the same, I've replaced the burners and ignitor in mine..and replaced a piece of the frame due to rust.

I wish there was a costco or a sams near me, but i got nothing in the woods. Closest to me is 2.5 hrs away.

I grew up with the owners kid. Straight assholes, but they make a good product (well, China makes a good product now).

You can use this as a grill or smoker or even an oven. You can do pizzas on them, bake a cake, etc.

 

Yes, but its a small enough amperage you can use your truck if you want to.

And yes, but you can buy any of the brands and they work. I used to use traeger's pellets, but they aren't very good. I started using a few online sources and get them for 40% cheaper than name brand, and better quality. Takes less to keep the heat up.

My parents have a Holland grill that is absolutely fabulous, no flare ups or anything however it is time cook, can't adjust heat
