So murdering someone is ethical if you don't get caught

But he considered it and asked everyone's opinion. I have bought plenty of tools over because I didn't have them with me. Added them to my collection when I got home. Not a big deal. I have multiple socket sets, wrenches, screwdrivers etc. easier to do the right thing cause in the end you are the one that benefits.

*What is acceptable in his culture.

or if its justified. Isn't justified murder, just war?

I'm not saying the OP or you are right or wrong. I'm not trying to cause trouble, just find this sort of conversation interesting... and I'm pissed at my university's ethics board

    Truly.

Please show me where the OP suggested stealing the items.
I won't get involved in any of these expanded debates where someone claims theft, gov't involvement, pedophiles or murderers. OP simply asked about buying and then returning tools, essentially the same thing that he can do to rent tools at Autozone.

Not all unsolved murders are the result of war , still doesn't make them ethical

Agreed. Murder is fine if you really hate the person.

edit: shit. the murder card hadn't been played on that page yet...

You're essentially shortening the life of the tools by using them (no matter how negligible it might be). This is why you rent things, to pay for the time you used them. If you're not paying for it then you're stealing it.

I think the real question is, what would you have done if you never asked us this question? What you do when no one is looking defines your character.

This thread reminds me of a past member that hung out in the New England BS threads.

He thought it was great (he worked as a mechanic) when a customer came in for an oil change and brought in their own Amsoil for the tech to put in.

The turd kept the Amsoil for himself and put in regular oil from the shop. He was actually bragging about his 'score' here on TW. We all shit on him and the mods finally gave him the boot.
