god damn walmart...you could return a set of used underwear with shit stains on them and they will take them back.....but when something is really wrong with an item, they give you shit about it! Gotta love walmart

As rodney carrington says "damn qualifications for working at walmart must be breathing"! No offense to OP. My buddy worked there and hated every day of it! Glad he got out. They have some people working who really dont deserve to be working.

    my rant is over :D

Hey if I were king, unemployment would cease on day 1 of a new job and transfer to the new employer after 90 days when probation periods usually end. Any in between and you reap what you sow.

on the flip side I have been working for Comcast for 21 years now. Back in 2012 I ended up in the hospital for a month and missed a total of 7 months of work. Upon returning I still had to miss time to follow up with Doctors appts and labs and stuff-Comcast was great and supported me 100%.

In case you have not seen the Mike Rowe ad, Walmart has pledged that over the next ten years they will be putting $250 billion to work to help create new manufacturing jobs in America.”

I am a believer that today's youth has an "Entitlement attitude" and believes they should get top dollar for menial work. when I was 17 years old in 1976 I worked my ass of at Round Table Pizza for $1.40 an hour. I dont believe Walmart and other similar jobs are meant to be Careers (except for management maybe) but as a way to earn some money and learn a good work ethic.

I was fired for going into work 10 minutes early.......others said that I was one of the hardest working employees at the company. Life is unfair.

Well I'm glad Comcast support you :)
My friend not so much, very dedicated worker oh well as said got a better job.
Maybe its a regional thing. I'm not here to bash Comcast only what happened to my very good friend.
I agree about the entitlement attitude.
My first weekly paycheck in 76 was $64. I found the stub recently going boxes at my parents house.

sue for EPL (employment practices liability). It's easy and a sure way to get compensated for any hint of wrongful termination since insurers settle 98% of those cases.

Unless this was a Public Sector employee most private-sector workers are "at-will" employees and may be fired for any reason other than race, gender, exercising rights provided by statutes such as workers' compensation or truthfully testifying in court.

You show up early. Not work early. Then you're seen as padding your hours. I say nice things to people in bad situations, too, it only matters what management thinks anyway.

Life IS unfair. We have it easy, anyway. Too much complaining

My brother almost got fired from Menards for taking a 29 minute lunch instead of 30 minutes. Companies have strict rules they have to abide by that the worker doesn't know or think about.

I'm guessing the walmart woman was on Walmart's insurance. She is racking up quite a bill on her insurance. She collected disability and medical insurance, both of which Walmart wouldn't pay if they didn't have to. It didn't help her any in the end.

Lunch breaks are heavily regulated and can result in huge fucking headaches for employers when their employees don't take the legally required time. HYOOOGE

Every company I've worked for (including my own) gives big fucks about that. Don't give a damn if you take a 31 minute lunch, but 29 and your ass is getting written up.

If your friend believes she was unjustly terminated, she should seek the advice of a good employment attorney.

If there's a case, you can bet one of two things will happen. They will try to settle or your case will go forward.

    It does.

In almost every case, you will hear exactly one side of the story. Someone said no company who is professional will ever say why you were let go. If they're smart, the answer will be 'your candidate was employed by XXX from X to Y'-in fact, any reference check will be nothing more than that.

Although not weekly, I've done way more than my share.
