What bothers me is her blatant attempt to defy the quarantine. She is going out of her way to make a statement.

People only care about freedom until something scary happens

Look at the Patriot act and now the new laws for quarantine

Still not worried. So, all you second amendment guys, remember how you were wanting the govt to put this girl in a box when they come for your guns. Same thing in my mind.

Careful Maple Leaf, we'll send some drones up there to take care of freedom. I really don't get the paranoia. No symptoms, no issues. Wait, what if some of these people used the gas pump and you used it after them?! Next we'll be back to thinking Aids can be caught from a toilet seat.

Yep, America. The land of personal freedom. I'll be sure to exercise my personal freedom to do some target practice when the zombie (or ebola) apocolypse finally happens.

I'm more afraid of our govt than I am Ebola. Don't ask them to intervene in the "public's best interest".

This woman lives in Ft Kent Maine. Have any of you ever been to Ft Kent? I have. What the fuck is she going infect? 2 moose and a racoon? Ft. Kent is pretty much more 3rd world than Sierra Leone, trust me. People from Maine don't even go to Ft. Kent.

I live in Maine her imprisonment is not right she has no symptoms she has worked with these people she knows what the symptoms are she is not a dumb person guess none of you have heard a word she has said. I am so tired of the fear mongering over a disease you have to try hard to contract. Personally I am more afraid of children that have not been immunized because of some foolish fear by their parents than Ebola. Think small pox it kills 2 million every year.

It's unfortunate that more folks would not view their personal accountability to others as more important than their personal desires and behave in a responsible manner in society. That is why we have a collective governing in our democratic society to act when the public's best interest, in this case, reducing the liklehood of a communicable, fatal, disease with no known cure from spreading is paramount for the survival of the life standard as individuals you enjoy.

so what would you suggest is a responsible method to prevent this fatal, non-curable disease from becoming an epidemic? You note that the act of parents not immunizing their children has a hi degree of risk to you personally, yet that is a disease that as a society we've taken effective steps to practically eliminate, yet some folks think their personal right takes precedence. How is this case of no wanting to quarantine different than parents not immunizing their children? Please note the effect of smallpox when it was first introduced by international travellers to North America.
