I'd think any major city with international airports is fortunate not to have an Ebola case. Wish I was wrong, I wouldn't be too shocked if San Francisco gets a report.

Tbh I think how poor they are there helped a lot with it not spreading internationally. Its not like they can afford to take a vacation.

For them, sure. But lots of people with money travel there because they're poor there and want to help. So it still travels. Like the.doctor in the article, he went there to treat Ebola infected people. Flew back to the US on a commercial flight, rode around on the NYC subway with who knows how many people, and ends up in the hospital with Ebola himself.

SFO is a huge international hub, and our population in.just the bay area alone is super diverse, lots of global travelers and lots of professionals with money to travel or to help people.

Suprised a doctor treating Ebola patients didn't need to be in a 21 day isolation prior to returning

This just goes to show you how easy you can get it. He's a doctor and should know the practice of what to do to not contract Ebola. He should have quarantined himself for the 21 day period to protect others.

I hope no one else gets it because of him.

    Wut?

Our nurses taking care of the first idiot were exposed. Nobody knows their ass from a hole in the ground as far as knowing how to not be exposed, even inside a hospital for infectious disease.

Ignore the fact he may have come into direct contact with 1000 people with Ebola and yeah , you probably have the same chance of getting it

x2, irresponsible doesn't even begin to describe that doctor's actions. I was beyond pissed when I heard that story this morning. He really is a piece of shit in my mind, he potentially put thousands of people at risk. If he survives, he doesn't deserve to keep his medical license because clearly he is not capable of making the correct decision.

When I flew down to Houston this summer I came in contact with a lady whose daughters favorite disease was Ebola (shes a lab researcher working on a cure). I knew nothing about it before talking to her. Hopefully her and her team can figure something out.
