Do you Youtube?

I've been making and editing videos for a little while now for just an extra hobby that i enjoy doing. I've just recently allowed ads and junk on my channel and it now says my analytics are up to .60 cents! Lol. Not like thats a lot but i'm not quite sure how that works. I know a few people that run channels and make money off of Youtube (Because of the ads, views, subscribers, etc.). Exactly how does that (getting paid) work like that. I think you might have issues getting money because some of your videos don't use original music. I ran into to that problem... 100,000 views but no money. I just make video for fun... And I can't compose music, I have way more fun editing to songs I regularly listen to.

 

Well it started like that. However i have a few buddies that have their own band and we have been making videos for them so i own the rights to the music. That's basically why i started using it as a money maker. Before it was as a hobby

 

$350 a month is pretty good for a "hobby"

I also have another question if anyone knows the answer. I'm trying to monetize a video (Its a video of our band) and youtube says its "Monitoring for possible review" where the "$" symbol is beside my video. I'm assuming they are doing this because its a song and they want to make sure its not copyright infringement on it, however when i monetized it, it selected and noted that i own the rights to the song. I doubt i can do anything about it however its been in review for like a month now and i can't do anything about it.
