I used to own a Jeep TJ for years...enjoyed the community and how much respect there was no matter what kind of build you have. The problem with the "Tacoma wave" is that most of the newer Tacoma owners are not into the "building" aspect and the community that we all enjoy here on TW. Think about how many stock tacos and grocery getters you see out there. I wish the taco group in my city wasn't so bro-ish. Try finding a local group, I'm sure there are a few out there in GA!

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I don't wave, think it's pointless in a vehicle. Motorcycles are different, guess that is why I don't wave in the truck, because I get tired of doing it all the time on the bike haha.

I look at 90% of the Tacoma's I pass by, frankly I think they're good looking trucks, first, second, and third gens. Maybe 1 person in 14 months has returned the look, and they didn't wave. I haven't waved at anybody driving the same car as I since high school, except for driving the Peterbilt and I kept getting waved at by other Pete drivers so I did the same.

I wave back when waved to, but never initiate the wave.
When I'm out on the trail its a totally different story though.

I'm an Old Jeep man also so I get it.
Around here I figured I would start flipping off the other Tacoma owners off because that's pretty much what I feel like I'm getting with no response with a simple wave!?
Use to be common place for everyone to wave or nod when passing. Guess I am turning into that Ol man?:luvya:

Toyota's dont wave at other Toyotas. That's a Jeep thing. Toyotas do the finger point without removing the hand from the steering wheel. :p

I have noticed this trend over the years.

    It's like a "Hey you're cool, I'm cool, we're cool"

If I pull up beside a good looking modded Tacoma at a stop light or in traffic I'll give them a nod, that is it. If I disapprove of their mods I treat them like an ugly step-sister.
