funny story, last week some dude at work bought a flashlight with a taser thing on it. was loud as fuck (pretty intimidating) but u could hardly feel it honestly. probably bought it at a swap meet, we all made fun of him after we took turns shocking eachother with it. lol

I don't think stun guns are particularly effective. I'd rather have her use OC spray, or CCW. They rely on skin to electrode contact to be worth anything, and once the stun gun is removed from the body there isn't really any physical incapacitation like a tazer provides.

What you did there.. I see it. :)

I think though in nearly 7k posts, I've not told anybody to sterilize themselves so they can't ruin our future.. though. If I did, Tigerfan can correct me. :D

I knew a guy with one of those, it's a stun gun with a flashlight. Flashlight worked okay.. stun guns are stun guns.

Not old enough to CCW, she carries pepper spray on her key chain, and she carries a knife.
She is also a martial artist (Krav maga, and jiu-jitsu)

Also just a thought, if you're doing it to see if she'll be protected by the stun gun at all, the most likely place she'd ever be able to place it on an assailant is on the neck as most people wear shirts and pants... ;)

Nothing wrong with what you're doing. Not exactly a normal response, but I can see what you see in the value of it.

I'd imagine the stun gun will be the least effective tool in her arsenal, then, and the least likely to be deployed in an actual attack. If she was approaching a situation where she had bad vibes, the pepper spray in one hand and a cell phone call to 911 in the other hand is a better prep than reaching for a stun gun. Assuming she can't just turn around and avoid the situation altogether and remain both safe AND removed.

I believe it works through light clothing, so she can choose calf (through jeans, if I don't feel it we learned something) or chest (through T shirt, should be abLE to feel it).

@tigerfan, the stun device was manufactured by vipertek.

There is an option for safety... back out of your stupid agreement.

.... or you should just wear a hockey helmet if your curiosity wins.

You're right, normal clothing should be GTG. Thanks!

Never a stun gun, but I had a spark plug wire light me up once. My whole hand and my forearm were like a giant welt, and my stomach had a perfect circle burned on it from where I was leaning against the truck when it hit me. It was my boss's Dodgy-Dodge truck.
    That sure was fun. :)

Betting the stun gun is powered by a 9volt battery...or rechargeable equivalent...won't hurt any worse that licking both contacts of a 9volt

Most likely rechargeable equivelancy, it has AC prongs in it for charging, and I assume an AC-DC converter.

I think the only way to make it interesting is to take it on the neck or face or balls. Or on your neckfaceballs.

    Just a few LEDs...
I've been hit by a few different stun guns. They are a bit intimidating but not especially effective in taking someone down.

A guy I used to work with brought me one that wasn't working. I was able to fix it. After I got it working I zapped my thigh to see how bad of a shock it was. Not too bad but it did cause my leg muscles to contract. This was a little 9 volt powered device.

I used to mess around with high voltage as a hobby. One Halloween I went out to a club as Frankenstein. I incorporated the inner workings of a 12 volt stun gun that I built from a kit into my mask. This took the 12 volts, bumped it up to about 400 volts DC then took that and pulsed it through two high voltage 50,000 volt pulse transformers. Normally these would work together to produce 100,000 volts, but I had one of them on each side of my mask and rigged to arc to a ground ring. Yes, I was Frankenstein with real working electrodes on my head. I was shocking people, some willing, some not, all night long. The best was to shock people was to have them touch me withone hand and touch the electrode with the other. Unfortunately, the battery pack was in my pants pocket so every time someone did this I got shocked too! I got kind of used to it after a while.

There are much more powerful devices out there though. Just remember this...AC voltage stings. The higher the frequency, the more it stings and burns. DC voltage is a whole different story, with the right voltage, even just 1,000 volts or so with very little current, feels like someone hit you with a baseball bat and will knock you on your ass!

Trust me...I speak from experience. ;)

Don't have a day picked yet, but the ball is rolling.
It will happen before Tuesday though because I'm headed back to Ms then.
