A friend is flying there this weekend to see it in person. By all indications his "advance party" is already having a blast. Will be interesting to see if they can avoid the temptation of bringing something home.

I wish they would hurry. The place is filling up fast and we need to make room for the eleventybillionth question about spacer lifts, HIDs, or fitment of 285/75 tires.

    :)

Anyone know who is making all of these 70s FJs? There are a bunch on the docket this year.

You know, there are buys to be had . . .

So far, yesterday, I saw a mint 68 Buick GS 455 convertible sell for only $18K. It was not numbers matching and was slightly customized but I couldn't find a thing wrong with it. I'm a big block Olds 442 guy so it caught my eye and I thought it would bring 40-50K.

And, today [hey I'm a sick fuck with nothing better to do at the moment], there was a numbers matching all original 69 Torino GT Convertible, 390 4 speed, sold for only $27K.

I'm not a Ford guy but that 390 was a strong engine. Had a cousin with a hardtop version of the same car, mild cam, 750 Holley, headers, and a high 3s posi out back just ran like a futher mucker.

Now, I already know I cannot afford the 67 GTOs, 69 Z28s, 70 LS1s, etc. so I don't even bother with those. I tend to look for actual bargains of cars I certainly wouldn't mind owning and could actually buy.
